Sofia Magnusson

The 76th edition of the Cannes International Film Festival has come to an end and Edge Entertainment can proudly present three new acquisitions:  the French romantic drama Rosalie by Stéphanie Di Giusto, which had its world premiere in Un Certain Regard, the intense korean action-thriller Project Silence, which was the most talked about Midnight-film in Cannes, and the big César-winner of the year, the French crime drama The Night of the 12th by Dominik Moll.

Rosalie by Stéphanie Di Giusto

1870s France, Rosalie is a young woman unlike any other. She was born with a face and body covered in hair. In her ambition to not stand out, she has concealed her peculiarity by shaving every day. Abel, an indebted bar owner, unaware of her secret, marries Rosalie.  Her only wish is to truly be seen as the woman she is, despite a difference she no longer wishes to hide. Will Able still love her once he finds out the truth?

This romantic drama had its world premiere in Un Certain Regard, where it received a standing ovation from the audience. Rising star Nadia Tereszkiewicz, winner at this years César Awards, astounds in the role as Rosalie. Playing her husband is the acclaimed Benoît Magimel, winner of Best Actor at the César Awards for the second year in a row. In this touching drama, Di Giusto explores social norms and the female gaze.

Edge Entertainment are delighted to have acquired the Nordic and Baltic rights from Gaumont.
